This is my first PC build and I don't want to spend a ton of money on what is really an experiment which might end in some kind of computer. So, anyway, I've found a bunch of components for my experimental machine, all for a very insane combined price of just $175. However, since this is my first build, I do want to have someone check over my list and make sure all that I have selected is compatible with each other and not of terrible quality. Also, if I am missing any necessary components from my list, please tell me.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=N68SPLUS&cat=MBB - Mobo $45
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=AD7550WCJ2BGH&cat=CPU - CPU $38
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BLK-MATX3308&cat=CAS - Case +Power Supply $23
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CDN667D2D8C5-1G&cat=RAM - RAM $15
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=512DDR24200-APIDA&cat=RAM - RAM $7
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HCS5C3225SLA380-NDW-LN&cat=HDD - Hard Drive $27 (Like new)
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BLK-SH-S222-DO-R&cat=DVD - DVD Drive $20

One more thing: the mobo and cpu claim that when put together, graphics are integrated.

One more thing again: I am using both the 512MB stick of RAM and the 1GB stick of RAM for a combined 1.5GB, not a mistake that I included both.

Thanks for any replies

The case and psu are not available.
According to Biostar, "Install memory module of the same density in pair,"
The DVD drive is IDE. You need one that is SATA.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SIL-MATX3308&cat=CAS - Similar case

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4829307&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&cm_mmc_o=VRqCjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE - SATA DVD drive

And regarding the memory, I'll just spend a little more and buy 2GB. (2 x 1GB)
Also, would you say everything else looks fine?

(cost increases to $181, no big deal)

Alright thanks for your help. Gonna buy all this stuff in the next few weeks and I'll be sure to post results.

EDIT: Oh yeah, one more thing, I just realized that nowhere in my list of components is a heatsink or a fan...how do I go about finding a compatible heatsink?

Thanks dude, you rock.

And you think this is all I'll need to keep the case cool enough, no additional fans needed...

In the description of the case is says this:

"This case features the option for adding two 80 mm fans on the rear and the bottom and side panel vents help maintain consistent airflow across all your components."

So it looks like you'll need to add two 80mm fans too.

But it says "option" so I would assume that means that they aren't completely necessary...

But anyway--super cheap so why not?
