So this is my first time building a computer from scratch. I put together a list of parts that I think will all work together and will result in a pretty decent computer. I just need some advice as to whether or not all these parts will work together. I also have some concerns for them. My budget is keeping it around or below $1000.

I want this computer to be used for gaming, and development (since I'm a comp sci major), and then just basic computer usage (internet, etc..)

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=17321266 (my build)

I read in some reviews for the CPU that the heatsink that comes with it is a joke. Is this something that I need to replace with a better quality one? I don't plan on overclocking my computer, I just want to be able to run the newest games at high (not even max) settings.

The memory I have chosen also isn't on the list of supported memory for the motherboard. My chosen memory's model number is F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL. The motherboard does support model F3-12800CL9D-4GBECO. This is going to sound like a dumb question, but is this going to be an issue?

Thanks for all your help.

Looks great.
Check out this motherboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130573
You should use this ram instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231438

The fan/heatsink that comes with the cpu is more than adequate. There's no reason to replace it unless you plan to overclock at some point.

Thanks RickyTick.

Here's the updated build, but I'm having trouble deciding between two motherboards. Is one better than the other or will either be fine.

I'm sure either one would be fine. I'm kind of partial to MSI.
