I just found out that the windows 7 in my computer is not genuine. When i talked to the guy that built it i found out that he bought a key off of ebay and it was only good for like 6 months. Anyways, incase he don't want to make it right i need to figure out my options. all i need is a key, but in order to do that i have to buy a complete version of windows 7, what i need to know is which version do I need? the upgrade version or the complete full version. And where do you recommend buying it from, I see newegg.com offers it, and microsoft wants 199.00 to make it right, any other sights that may offer it cheaper.

ok it seems this is also a common problem for computers brand new out of the box, how can i find my product key for windows 7, the builder hasn't given it to me yet since he's been working, but i see there are programs i can download that will find it. suggestions?

You should be able to go to System Properties and see which version of Windows 7 you have. I'm guessing it's Win7 Ultimate. This is probably a beta key that expires after 6 months. I found this blog that you might like to look through.
