I'm a new builder. Going pretty much by the (Rob) book. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to install an SSD for my OS (Win 7 Pro) and the HD Rob recommends for my data. I know practically nothing about SSDs. Are they robust enough at this point to be reliable? Should I stick to a 3.5" form factor? What brands are most reliable? Any other thoughts or insights would be appreciated.

SSD's are very reliable. Most people use the SSD to hold the Operating System and maybe MS Office. If you have a particular software that is very demanding on the hard drive, then that would be a good candidate to store on the SSD.
Most popular drives are Intel, Crucial, and OCZ.
