I'm 63 years young and am considering getting a new PC ready to replace my existing one which is a six year old Dell Pent 4, XP SP1. It still purrs like a kitten! I've been in my tower numerous times upgrading things so I won't be totally clueless if I take this project on. I don't game and all of my children (four) have all of the grand children pictures probably in multiple locations (Picasa e.g.) so my needs, even for storage, are simple. Having said that, I'm sure the components are truly overkill! I look at it this way though, I'll be more than ready for the next six years and I also want to take advantage of U EFI. So here we go! Will these all be compatible?
I'm sure the first overkill is the case, but I like the idea of power supply and fans included and I really like the idea of a dust filter.
Antec Three Hundred + BP430 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with 430W Power Supply

ASUS P8H67-M PRO/CSM Mother Board

6 or 8 gigs of RAM

Intel Core i5-2500 Processor

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3250318AS 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
I could easily live with a 160 HD too.

I'd probably just do one of the newegg $25 DVD burners they are always having on sale.

Thank you!

Hello ratchet. Welcome to the forums.

I would suggest this hard drive. It's much bigger, is quieter, and has a better price per GB.

This is an excellent 8gb kit of ram.

The Antec 300 with the 430 watt psu is an excellent set up. I highly recommend it, however the last time I checked on newegg they were out of stock.

This is a basic DVD burner. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204
