Hi, I am an aerospace / mechanical engineering student, looking for an affordable computer that allow me to do my works without lagging on me. My laptop died 2 weeks ago, probably due to overheating, so I plan to build a desktop. I have never done it before, so hopefully you guys can give me some advices.

So for engineering, I usually use softwares like Matlab, SolidWorks and 3DS MAX. Besides that I also do game design and media productions for fun, so I also use software likes Virtools, DX Studio, Soundbooth, Premiere, After Effects, Dreamweaver, FL Studio, Finale... as for gaming, I do it once in a while, not that into it, but since I have a ps3, that is not a big issue.

I did some reading and research online for a couple weeks, and here's the parts I picked. Just don't know if they are good / compatible.

Very nice setup. I don't see any problems with it.
