Before I start let me just say that this will be a general purpose PC, Not even for gaming. Basically web browsing, watching hi-def videos, word processing etc... Maybe gaming further down the road but for now it's not a priority. I'm just tired of the HDD light of my current PC lighting up and the screen freezing for 5 minutes. :) I want something that boots fast and that's fast all around. Disc space is not even that important (why I chose an SSD drive). So this is the setup that I built.
Case 1 x NZXT Gamma Gaming Case-Black
Processor 1 x Intel® Core™ i7 950 Processor (4x 3.06GHz/8MB L3 Cache)
Processor Cooling 1 x Liquid CPU Cooling System [SOCKET-1366]-[Free Upgrade] Standard 120mm Fan
Memory 1 x 6 GB [2 GB X3] DDR3-2000-Corsair or Major Brand
Video Card 1 x ATI Radeon HD 5450 - 512MB
Video Card Brand 1 x Major Brand Powered by ATI or NVIDIA
Motherboard 1 x [SLI] MSI X58 PRO-E
Motherboard USB / SATA Interface 1 x Motherboard default USB / SATA Interface
Power Supply 1 x 450 Watt -- Standard
Primary Hard Drive 1 x 60 GB Corsair Force Series F60 MLC SSD-Single Drive
Optical Drive 1 x 24X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive-Black
Sound Card 1 x 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard
Network Card 1 x Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100)
Any general feedback is appreciated but I also have 2 questions:
- Is my 450w power supply enough for my setup?
- does this mobo ([SLI] MSI X58 PRO-E) support DDR3-2000 RAM? If it doesn't, any recommendation for a mobo that would?
thanks.
