Going to do a clean install on a new build soon & am in the dilemma of going 64bit & risk some programs & printer, etc not working w/ it (use quite a bit of older programs) OR going 32 & it's memory limitations, etc.

Anyone gone 64bit & had problems w/ software/hardware incompatibilities? (Read here & elsewhere various info on this question but many are 2 & 3 yr's old so things must've changed or at least plenty of time to have experiences w/ it).

Thanks

Check with the manufacturer of the hardware to make sure they have drivers for 64-bit. I can't imagine a new build with 32-bit Win7.

I guess I'll have to do that where possible. Worst case if I went 64bit & ran into too many incompatibilities I could just start over w/ new 32bit install.

Hardware is only an older HP printer. Software is things like Photoshop 7.0, Nero 7 (& a few others), etc that I would NOT want to have to re-purchase.

Actually, I think this processor (Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz Quad-Core) shows:

"Instruction Set - 64-bit"

So that may mean you have to go 64bit? Unless 32bit is still possible...
