I was looking at the GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3 mother board, and I had a question about the different PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots.

It has 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16) and 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4). Is the second slot just for using two video cards? Is it a good thing to have, or is it standard on most motherboards?

This is the link for the motherboard:

I was thinking of using this processor with it:

If someone would recommend a different mother board for this processor, please let me know.

Thanks!

Mike

Yes, the second slot can be used for another video card. I think it supports Crossfire but not SLI. Having multiple PCI slots is fairly common nowadays.
