Looking for recomendations while on a budget

I am building a computer... I havent ever built one before so please bear with me. Plus a 160Gb harddrive (I plan on upgrading once I get more money) and a Nvdia GeForce 9500gt 512mb. I need to know a few things, first I need to know if all of this is compatible and will work well together. Second I need to know of a case that i can get at a good price that will fit all of this. Fourth I will most likely need help with building this (I will post if I do) and finally if these things arent compatible what could i get that is and will be cost effective. My main priority is to run World of Warcraft Cataclysm smoothly(I already know my internet can do this). If you need more information to help just ask. Please no one criticizing in an un-helping matter or going off about World of Warcraft, I said that so you would know what I am trying to acheive. Any help will be appreciated.

According to the Required System Requirements for WOW: Cataclysm, you shouldn't have any problems playing the game with a 9500GT video card.

Have you considered an AMD cpu and motherboard? It usually can bring equal computing power at lower prices.

I have considered amds but I personaly prefer intels for a few reasons.

1. Amds tend to not come outright with the specs like intel does, this concerns me because they shouldn't have anything to hide if they are indeed solid.

2. Intel has proven itself to me from past experience and they are more direct with their specs.

I may change my point of view on these things if I can see very very solid proof that shows I am wrong.

Also, will that case fit with the intel motherboard and cpu? As in the chasis are the same not just the overall size. I know things can differentiate and I don't want to put money into something that I'll have to later spend time working out for no reason other than I didn't get enough information to begin with.
I would also like to stick with a power supply that can do at least 700W, I may decide to change certain things later and I would rather have a little extra than not enough. But I will remember to check voltages before hooking up any supply.

Generally for a custom build you should be looking at a minimum of about $800. The two main reasons to build your own system is to be able to incrementally upgrade your system and to understand It fully. And to be able to use high quality parts that are easily overclockable.

I will take that into consideration. For now I am looking to simply build a computer that will be better than my current one. I should have specified that I am looking to spend around $400 at the moment. I plan on putting in more money later ( I already have some things i can use i.e. video card, harddrive, and a few other things). I am planning to buy the items I linked and I am also buying RAM chips for said computer. What i am really wanting to find is a case that will work with the items i have specified ( I thought that the chasis differed on motherboards as in how they are placed and positioned inside the case). If someone can help me with this then I would be incredibly happy. I am looking not to buy a high end case but just a good fairly dependble case, nothing flashy.

I went and found what i needed and odered it but i do want to thank you for the help you have given me and if i need help on how it is all put together then ill will definitly come back to you guys and ask. Thanks for the help and i will see you guys later.

P.S. yeah that is a nice case. I went with one a tad cheaper that looks pretty solid.
