Lynnfield CPUs require motherboards that use to channel RAM. Bloomfield CPUs require motherboards that use three channel RAM. Bloomfield motherboards tend to be more expensive. Linfield CPUs use the 1156 socket while Bloomfield CPUs use the 1366 socket.
With triple channel RAM you’re going to need the free matched RAM sticks. Because RAM right now is most affordable in 2 GB sticks that means with the Bloomfield motherboard you’re going to end up with 6 GB of RAM. Whereas with a windshield motherboard you can get for 2 GB sticks for a total of 8 GB.
