Ok, I think I just ordered a pretty powerful budget setup.
But I am not sure exactly if the Video is going to work. The motherboard has built in DVI and VGA ports. and I think I read somewhere that this intel i3 540 processor has a built in video processor.
Does anybody know of an advanced book on the latest processors and hardware compatibility. I am looking at Build a PC for Dummies and it's well, targeted toward idiots.
Are there any problems with this setup?

Why use an old CD drive, when you can get a new DVD drive for less than $25.
Why the H55 and not the P55 motherboard.

Because H55 has onboard graphics-- DVI out.
is the P55 better? or cheaper?

The computer will not be a gaming machine, so I am not interested in High end video cards or DVD burners.
I just need some computing power.

Well that's a good reason to go with H55, as long as you're not using a i5-750.
I would still recommend installing a DVD drive, since it's so inexpensive and your going to need it at some point.
