My attempt at making a gaming computer, mostly for WoW, but to also be good down the road for anything.

Case: Antec - Sonata III Quiet Mid Tower w/ EarthWatts 500W, eSATA $99.99
Processor: Intel - Core™ i5 Processor 750 2.66GHz w/ 8MB Cache $189.99
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-P55A-UD4P w/ Dual DDR3 2200, 7.1 Audio, Dual Gigabit Lan, USB 3.0, 1394, PCI-E CrossFireX / SLI $169.99
Memory: Corsair - 4GB XMS3 PC3-12800 C9 DDR3 SDRAM $89.99
Video Card: Sapphire - Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, Dual DisplayPort $259.99
Hard Drive: Seagate - 1TB Barracuda 7200.12 SATA II w/ 32MB Cache $55.99
DVD Drive: Asus - 24x DVD-RW Drive, SATA w/ LightScribe, Black, OEM $29.99
CPU Cooler: Zalman - CNPS9700 LED Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler $49.99
Total: $945.92

My question is, will all these parts work correctly? Do I have the right amount of cooling? Is there anything I'm missing for this to work correctly? The sound card is Onboard. The network card is also Onboard (I'm assuming this means I can just connect my ethernet).

Any help would be appreciated, any advice as well. Saving money is always good!

Downgrading my Video Card to: Sapphire - Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort (199.99). New price including assembly is $925.92 plus tax.

Is 500W enough for this setup? Does my video card need cooling as well? memory?

Sorry for the loads of questions haha. Been trying to learn as much as possible in the past couple of days.

I just noticed this morning that the Antec Sonata III is on sale at Newegg for $85 after mail in rebate, AND free shipping.
They also have Kingston HyperX ram 4gb (2x2gb) DDR3 1333 for $60 after mail in rebate, as well as free shipping.
Maybe you could use those savings to go back to the RAdeon HD 6870 video card.

The 500 watt psu is plenty, and the video card already has a cooling fan on it.

Unforunately I'm Canadian and have to use newegg.ca which puts the case at 119.99. Same with all my pricing, I'm using MemoryExpress.com to build my machine (they build it for $40, which saves me the hassle).

So 500 watts is plenty for that setup? I would have thought I'd need more.

Didn't have my video card on there, so chose one close. Came out to 388 watts. Doesn't sound right in my opinion. I'll keep looking.

You're not really missing anything. I was only considering that the GTX460 was $30 less, has free shipping, and comes with a game valued at $50.

Last question (hopefully). I was looking at my motherboard and comparing the ram, and noticed my ram isn't compatible (or at least that's what it says). So I started looking and came across (Kingston - HyperX 4GB PC3-12800 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 2GB) C9 w/ Intel XMP), which has a model number of (KHX1600C9D3K2/4GX).

But the supported model number on my motherboard says (KHX1600C9D3K2/4G), without the X at the end. Is it safe to assume my memory is still okay with the motherboard or is that X going to kill me?
