Hi guys.

I've been out of the computer scene for almost a year and I'm not up to date on the latest components. I'm planning a build my wife a rig that will be used mainly for hobby-level photo editing. She uses Adobe photoshop and some other Nikon photo-editing program. This PC will not be used for gaming or video editing.

Not sure what CPU and mobo to go with. Don't want absolute high-end, but don't want low-end either. Also will not likely be OC'ing. We want this PC to be efficient (she normally leaves her PC on 24/7) and quiet.

Any input?

My wife has a photography business that she runs from home. She primarily uses Photoshop too. She runs it on a laptop with a quad core processor with 4gb of ram. If you're going to use a desktop, I'd still recommend a quad core processor, but try to go with 8gb of ram if possible.
