Rob – I stumbled upon your site and its great! I really like your build tutorial! I’m going to do my first build and have been studying everything I can find and reading as many of the reviews, specs, Q&As and forums I possibly could for the last 90 days or so (steep learning curve). I’m pretty confident in my ability to assemble all the components and have a little experience with electronics assembly. When it comes to actually getting the bugs out and getting it to work…well, I’ll probably be back whimpering for help!
Here is my hardware list. Still trying to decide on the final MB and video card. It seems like all MBs have their little problems with ram, bios, drivers, QC, or whatever (very sketchy). Sounds like a crapshoot if you will get one that is the latest version, has a bios that will at least get you through loading XP and isn’t DOA! Anyway, please take a look at my list for compatibility and any advice or comments would be great!
MOBO/CPU choices: I’m leaning toward the Crosshair – seems like less problems, has the LCD poster, & easier to install the Zalman 9700 cooler…..
