I've allowed myself a bit of cash to upgrade my PC, but I'm not sure which parts to upgrade! Here is my setup at the moment:
AMD 4200+ X2 Socket AM2
1GB Crucial Ballistix RAM PC25300
XXX Geforce 7600GT 256MB
Antec 480W PSU
ASUS M32N-SLI Deluxe
Oh, and my dream case - Thermaltake Tsunami. :D
My budget is about £250 - what do you recommend?

For £250 you could easily get a new CPU, GPU and Motherboard.
Price cuts will put the E6400 at well under £100
Decent motherboard will set you back around £70
And if you can stretch you can get a 7900GS for around £100
Stick the other parts on ebay and make yourself some money :D

I was thinking about that, although I might decide to get some better memory instead. My GPU works well for what I use it for, and I think that I need the memory for Virtualisation and things like that.
I also need more processing power, but I'm going to wait for a bit longer for that - price cuts for intel are a-coming. :)

Damn right those price cuts are coming. I can see a Quad core with ma name on it :D

I tried to tell my employers about these price cuts, but they got itchy feet so ordered a Q6600 a few days ago... idiots. XD

What a bunch of donuts. That CPU is having a really big price cut.
Oh well. You can rub it in when that CPU is half the price :D

It was all I could do to persuade them not to bother with the Quad Core Xeons - just a rebadged version of the Q6600 for 100 pounds more!

Oh well its their loss. Maybe in the future when they realise just how much intel slashed their pices they will listen to you :D
Any ideas what your going to be upgrading yet ?

Probably RAM for the moment and mobo/CPU when I have some more money/inclination. :)
I run Ubuntu in a virtual environment, and having that and XP on 1GB of RAM is not good enough tbh.

Yeah i here you. I have 2 gigs in my rig and even that isn't enough and i am only running XP (stalker is another matter though:D ). Ordering another 2 gigs for myself today. Then this baby will be rocking :p

Yeah, the only game I play is CS:S, and that runs really well.
Just bought myself 2GB of Corsair Dominator PC2-8500, so a big chunk of my allowance has gone. :)
What's really annoying is the overclockers.co.uk were doing a deal last week, and I dithered so much that I missed it - coulda saved myself £25... :(

 Decent mate, i like overclockers but they tend to be expensive so i use scan, aria or ebuyer.
Give us a lil review when you get it lol :D

Meh, decided to spend a little more and upgrade processor and mobo as well. :D
Going for an e6750, gigabyte mobo to support 1333 fsb and pc2-8500 memory, and the memory I said before.
