automatic shutdowns

I built a computer a couple of years ago following exactly as this website recommended and it gave me no problems until a few weeks ago when it started to randomly power off. I've checked for overheating, checked RAM,tried a differnt power unit, bought a new hard drive, installed Windows7 and still have the auto shutdown happening. It won't even go into SAFE mode. It'll run in the BIOS menu without problem, though. Talking to a guy at Mach 1, the motherboard manufacturer, he seemed to think the processor has failed. Any opinions from anyone? Is there anything else I should check? Thanks!

That’s weird. So you’re saying it boots okay and starts but then spontaneously powered itself off from time to time. I would tend to think that’s an overheating issue. Perhaps the box needs to be taken outside and blown out for dust.
