Hi, just a newbie looking for some help with a memory update on an Acer Aspire 1711Sci.
I bought two 1GB 184 Pin 2.5v DDR333 Non-ECC Dimm from Offtek using their memory checker service, to replace the original 512K single module fitted
Unfortunately with the new modules fitted the Acer is pretty unstable, blue screening after opening a few windows apps. Its a little bit more stable with just one new module fitted in slot 0, but it will still blue screens quite quickly when I try manipulating photo images. The reported errors vary but BHDRVx86.sys and Win32K.Sys have been highlighted as a possible problem areas, but for the moment I'm assuming its not a driver issue and the errors are just coincidental. If I refit the original memory the Acer returns to its usual, slow but completely stable self.
I've run memtest86+ with one of the new modules fitted and it did report 94 errors after 10 passes of the default 9 tests. But reading around this doesn't appear to be too terminal? I'm just running it against the second module and after 4 passes its only generated 8 errors.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
