How to tell if computer posts? (first build)

So I'm finishing building my first computer, I installed everything except hard drive and CD drive and I booted it up. Unfortunately (and this I did not know until I was actually connecting everything to my mobo) I bought the Antec 300 Illusion which, while a very nice case, has no connection for the motherboard speaker. Therefore I get no single "beep" upon booting to signal a successful post. However my BIOS screen flashes and then after a few seconds the screen goes blank and it says "Loading operating system..." to which it just hangs since I obviously have not yet installed the operating system. So does this still mean up until now everything is looking good?

I just now finished installing the hard drive and CD drive and was going to continue on and install windows 7 but I guess I just wanted to get this cleared up, I know it probably sounds like a dumb question

Everything is going as expected so far. The next step is to try and install the OS and see how it goes. Good luck!
