Hi, did some more research on Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 and have been able to narrow down the build I want. Please have a look and straighten me out before I order this monster.

For an optical drive, I will re-use the one I installed/replaced in my Dell about a year ago.
Added up at the bottom of the Newegg cart is $1686.01 with $25 in shipping. There are also 3 rebates which subtract $50 from the total to $1636.01.
I could probably shave another $100 if I were to use a case/PSU combo and some lesser hard drives, but I like the idea of a full aluminum case for heat and weight as well as some decent drives. Please correct me if I'm silly for thinking that. I'm not using the least expensive monitor as well, I could probably save another $100 by reducing size to a 24", or something like that.
The video editor I want to use is all about i7 processors and Nvidia Cuda use for some of the editing procedures, hence the higher end processor/gpu. I do have a question, clicking around on Newegg, I could get an i7 930 for a couple dollars more ( plus another $50 for the 1366 chipset mobo,) or the i7 870, any reason I should. I'm definitely not throwing around $50 like it's nothing, but I'd like to do this once and be happy with it for years to come.
I looked at doing another Dell, but after reading reviews, magazine and owners, I couldn't help but feel that the best bang for the buck rest with a home built pc.
I think I've followed the "Super Build" with some minor changes, once again, thanks to everyone on the forum and of course Rob for the site to begin with. I'm looking foward to putting it together.
Thanks, Rob.
