Rob -
I haven't built a PC in a long time - last one was a 50 MHz 486 on a Mylex motherboard. Thanks to the instructions posted here, was able to make short work of the new build. I did a conventional build with no overclocking. It's up and running!
Antec Sonata III case w/EarthWatts 500W power supply
GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard (less PCI capability than the recommended -UD4P, but it was on sale at Newegg for $119)
Intel Core i7-860 CPU
2 Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB 7,200rpm SATA low-power, low-noise HDDs configured as mirrored RAID 1 array (they were on sale, too!)
EVGA 896-P3-1255-AR GeForce 260 896MB video card
8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz
Lite-On 24x DVD writer SATA
Lite-On 4x Blu-ray disc reader SATA
Zalman CNPS9500 fan/heatsink w/ 120mm fan
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Logitech wired USB keyboard and mouse
I appreciate all the effort and time you committed to make mysuperpc.com available.
