Hey everybody, I have finally put together a (tentative) final list of parts for my first build. I want the build to be less than $1000, preferably closer to $900. I am a computer science major so I will be using my pc for programming tasks. I will be playing some games on my PC, but I won't be playing the newest games at the highest graphics level. Basically I just want to be able to run most games with decent looking graphics, and I don't need any more than that. I also will be doing the usual listening to music and surfing the internet etc... I decided to go with the hex-core AMD processor because it was only $20 more than the quad-core on newegg. This is my first time building my own pc, so I wanted to make sure all of my parts were compatible, first and foremost. Thankfully I found this site and you guys should be able to spot any errors I made in compiling this list. Anything you guys might notice that would trip me up would also be appreciated, such as needing a cable to hook something up because it doesn't come with it, or something like that. Thanks in advance!

Looks really good.

The 9800GT is two generations old now. I would suggest taking a good look at the Radeon HD 5770. A solid performing gpu and excellent performer.

I would also recommend the Caviar Blue or Black for the hard drive.
