Install Intel i5 clarksdale 670 in gigabyte motherboard

Hi
We are trying to install the intel i5 lga1156 into gigabyte motherboard--the socket types match-but after we replace the load plate, it seems we have to put a great deal of pressure on the socket lever to close it.

Is this normal, or is there something wrong?

You shouldn't have to put that much pressure to close the CPU socket. Does it close OK when the CPU isn't in the socket? Does the CPU drop into the socket without any force?
