Help me build a new PC! (first timer)

Hello, first time posting and first time ever building a PC (you guys get that a lot here huh?:) lol). I hope this post is formatted correctly and let me know if I left out any info. My primary goal is to be able to play FFXIV when released late September at max settings with no problems. Budget is meh right now, all this may end up being too expensive but here is a preliminary wish list. Most importantly, I'd like to know if all this is compatible and then also your opinions regarding any notion of this build (e.g. which of the two graphics cards listed to choose from? Is the motherboard the right one for this build? etc.)

These specs are misleading because it is for the beta and probably the minimum; plus the offical benchmark destroyed my laptop (scoring in 500s with low settings) with these specs:

That's the wrong ram for that motherboard. It's triple channel, and you need dual channel. Otherwise, it's a killer build. Go with the Radeon 5850 video card.

Great, thanks. Would you be able to then recommend particular memory? On newegg, only 1 result is found when specifying 6GB and dual channel. Is 8GB too much/4GB not enough? Perhaps a better idea would be to opt for a motherboard that supports the triple channel memory I have listed?

Go with the motherboard I listed in the previous post and then go with THIS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231275) ram. 4gb should be plenty of ram. You can always another 4gb kit later down the road if you need to.
