ok, I have a Hauppauge HD PVR (External Video Capture Device) and I am capturing videos to my PC from my xbox360. Studio 12 is bugged out of its mind and wont run; it crashes every time it opens. Also, I downloaded the vegas pro9 free trial version but thats only a free trail version and costs like 600$!!. Does anyone know any other program that can take MPEG-4 Movie files and convert them into mp4. files and/as well as edit them. I have the CD for studio12 but i dont know why it tripped out on me and crashes everytime I try and edit a video. Not to mention the self help for studio 12 would cost me 600$ worth my own time just to get running for something I already PAID for. My delema? I am sitting here with tons stuff that does not work to do one of the main reason I bought it. Help if you can please. If you can't then I understand aswell. In the mean time I will be installing and uninstalling Studio12 again.

ok, I have a better question that might simplify things. Where can i get a free video converter? I need to convert MPG4 files into mp4. If anyone have that info that would solve my problem because I can just use windows editor.

You could give HandBrake a try: http://handbrake.fr/index.php.

A paid alternative would be Clone2Go's Video Converter: http://www.clone2go.com/products/videoconverter.php
