i have a AMD Phenom II 965 black edition Quad core processor on a Asus M4A79XTD EVO mother board. i have it stable at 3.8ghz at 1.50 volts. i have read everything i can find on google about getting this processor to 4ghz and apparently its pretty difficult. ive tried everything i can and i cant get it to boot let alone get it to be stable at anythign above 3.8ghz... i really dont know what im doing, so it could be a matter of switching something simple in the Bios and it'll work.

Also, would RAM timings have an effect on the ability to overclock a processor? if so how do i find out what my ram times are so i can see if that is what the problem is?

i have been unsuccessful, so im asking for help. any replies would be appreciated...

Hi Sean, I am not a gamer and you know much more about overclocking than I. However, I do read a lot of reviews. Guru of 3D is a German reviewer and he has a long review on your CPU. He does get it to 4.0 gig, but he also comments on temperature having to be ok, etc.. He has temps in the review. This guy is obviously competent; all you have to do is read his reviews to figure that out. (He also likes -or loves-Asus mobos)

Anyhow, here is the link to the review: http://www.guru3d.com/article/phenom-ii-x4-965-be-processor-review-test/1

The site has a multipage index on the first page. There is an overclock page (page 4) but I suggest you read the conclusions first. He does explain his set up procedure and he did get to 4.0 gig with 1.5 volts. (or maybe it was 1.55, you will see this comment, looks like he left out the decimal) . Anyway, he shows his overclock data much as you show yours above, so maybe you can glean something from his data that will help.

Good luck!!
