Hey everyone,

I just found your site, it's been great so far. I'm excited to start building my computer using the build found on the main page:

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (dual-core)
Ram Crucial 4096MB (4GB) PC8500 DDR2 (about 3.00GB usable)
Video Card eVGA Geforce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB DDR3 PCI-E
Hard Drive Western Digital 640GB 7200rpm SATA
DVD RW Samsung 22x DVD RW
Sound Card Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer (but the motherboard built-in sound is very good)
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2 (Service Pack 2)
Monitor Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Is this build fairly current? What OS should I use? Should I use Windows 7 64 bit? I know you recommend using 32 bit software.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums Keith.

That's an excellent build, but it is last generation. You can probably go with the newer stuff and still stay in the same price range.
And definitely go with Win7 64-bit.

Hey Ricky,

Do you have any suggestions for a current gen gaming PC? My price range is between $1,500-$2,000.

Thanks.

Keith
