My old case is an all steel Full Tower from Micron- Millenium; high mtd. PS, front mounted Power Switch, 5 X 5" bays on front panel + floppy, vents on front and rear--a little dirty and dusty.
Hardware already purchased from Newegg: Intel Core2Duo E8400 Wolfdale, Video Card Sapphire Radeon HD48700 1GB 256-bit GDDR5, Corsair MPSU-750TX 750 Watt Power Supply, WD 1001FALS 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive, GIGABYTE GA-EP45_UD3P MB, G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2 8500, Sony Optiarc DVD Burner, Built-in Memory card reader, Zalman CNPS9700 LED 2 Ball Cooler. Monitor will be a very high quality NEC 23" LCD (1920 x 1080) Model EA231WMi, or an old Gateway VX1110.
I am concerned with cost; and future expansion into i5 or i7 CPU. Not concerned with appearance or portability. Primary uses are playing games
(CIV IV and Flight Simulator), web surfing, playing movies and storing, scanning and viewing pictures and slides.
Please suggest a case and why.
