Actually, I'd recommend the i7 920 with an X58 motherboard for a gaming PC, as this has better PCI-e bandwidth.

Good point. However, I would say go with the new i7-930. It looks like a real winner.

Good idea - $6 more on newegg for the extra clock speed, definitely worth it.
