Hello everyone,
I want to build a game box. I want to try to make it upgradeable in the future and as good as I can with the $1000 budget I have. That does not include monitor, mouse or keyboard.
I have read some nice recommendations with links to stores. I also read to try to get as much at the same place to save shipping but a better price is a good reason to shop around also.
Suggestions for "if you had a couple of more bucks get this instead" are more than welcome if they make a smarter build for me.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

How about this with a couple of upgrades? All from Newegg based on suggestions I have read here.
Will this RAM work on this board?

That would work fine, but you're missing a video card.

Good catch and a hit to the budget!
Added the video card and I am at $1256 not including mail in rebates and tax of course.
Would it make sense to go for the i7 920 for $10 more and is it compatible with the board and ram?
I am close to pulling the trigger<g>

Bob
No. The i7 920 is LGA1366, and the P55 motherboard is for LGA1156 processors.
