ill admit, not only am i a rookie, but im also somewhat computer illeterate... but everyone must start somewhere.....right?? with that said im looking to build a fast computer, that will also double as a media center and support the existing 2 hdtvs i have, with expandability for the future.

thanks for any and all help as this system will run me about 1500 and iam trying not to inccur any extra costs

There's really not a good reason to use a P45 motherboard and a LGA775 cpu on a brand new build. Look for a P55 motherboard and a i7 cpu.
1gb of ram is not enough. 4gb is the new minimum for a new system, plus ram prices are still fairly inexpensive these days.
Otherwise, looks ok.

Look in this thread at the "Step Above" set-up. That's a great place to start.

was looking to keep price low on build and thought i wouldnt be able to afford this newer technology. however with a bit of good advice and a little more research i found this deal at newegghttp://www.newegg.com/product/combobundledetails.aspx?itemlist=combo.328905. only $74.06 above original build.

motherboard: gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r LGA1366 Intel x58 http://www.gigabyte.us/products/motherboard/products_overview.aspx?productid=3317
processor: intel core i7-920 bloomfield 2.66 GHz LGA1366 http://intel.com/consumer/products/processors/corei7-specs.htm
RAM: Kingston Hyperx ddr3 triple channel http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/khx1800c9d3t1k3_3gx.pdf
hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1.5 TB http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=n82e16822148412
vidio card: sapphire vapor-x radeon hd 5770.. same as original build
tv tuner card: hauppauge win tv hvr-2250.. same as original build
optical drive: sony optiarc black.. same as original build
os: windows 7 home premium.. same as orininal build, but at 64 bit.

1 final question... to add more ram, i assume i will need to stay with a triple channel kit like the one supplied in the bundle... but will be able to add any size (gb) kit i choose.
