New build is up and running. So far so good with all of the components after doing all of the diagnostic tests and running prime95 overnight. Figured I would post the specs since I know your working on a new high end build, and i7 860 might be an option you're looking into.
Case is awesome, but big for a mid-tower. Almost everything is screwless. The drive trays for opticals, the HDD trays, and the card slots as well. Fan control knob is nice, and it controls the fan LED's too. Big thumbs up.
MOBO is just right for my needs, and the BIOS is very easy to work in. One of the PCI-E slots is positioned poorly, but I don't have a need for one let alone two. Only 2 on-board USB headers, but I knew that going in. 8 SATA ports is plenty for me, and there are 3 different options for RAID (I'm using the Intel P55 controller for my RAID_0 array).
Haven't run any benchmarks yet, but early results with video editing are outstanding. Now I just need to learn to play a few PC games to give this video card a workout!
