I have built my PC as per the specs below and everything seems to be working really well... However, now as I consider a backup strategy I am considering putting in one of my old EIDE (non-sata) drives as the C: drive. (WD Caviar 120GB 8MB 7200RPM disk)
The logic here is that I would have a much smaller drive (120GB), than the new 640GB drive, as my C: drive which would make creating a backup image file far more practical. My plan would be to keep most of the programs and things like My Documents on a partition(s) on the larger drive... however obviously the Windows XP operating system would reside on the C:
My question is... does this make sense? Am I going to find that this drive will be a bottleneck of some sort?
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
Graphics - ASUS ENGTX260 (896 MB)
RAM - 2 x 1Gb - Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 PC2-8500
Hard Drive - WD 640GB Black Edition SATA 3GB 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
DVD R/W - Samsung SH-S223Q
Case - Antec Sonata III
O/S - Windows XP Pro SP3
