I'm looking to maybe building a computer without a box. Have seen it done before somewhere. Partially I would do it for just something different but also for the ease of working on it and upgrading. We are going to move in the next month or so and when we do I'm going to build a computer desk and shelfs to accomidate my sound equipment. I may or maynot build the computer right into the desk/shelf system. Thought maybe somebody might have some ideas concerning this. Thanks!

Google a product called Torture Rack. It's kind of a plexiglass setup.

I knew someone at University who turned their bedside cabinet into a PC case. :)

Just make sure the air flow is sufficient so your components don't overheat, and you can put it pretty much anywhere.
