This is my first build, and I was just wondering is they were anything I could do to improve it in any way. My budget is around $1400 AUD, and the parts for this build total out at that now. So if there is anything I should change or add, please advise me.

Thanks

Welcome to MySuperPC. That's an excellent setup.

I would strongly suggest going with the 64-bit operating system. Not only does it perform better, but it will make better use of the 4gb of ram you have.

That motherboard is excellent, but it doesn't have firewire. If you think you need firewire (IEEE 1394), then go with the EP45 UD3R board. It's about $10 more.

You didn't specify which WD hard drive. The WD Caviar Black is best.

Looks great. Let us know how it works out.

Ok, I will go with the 64-bit and the EP45 UD3R.
I have tried looking for the WD Black Caviar but none of the stores nearby have them in stock. Thanks a lot for you advice.
I will keep you posted.

If you can't find the 750gb Caviar Black, then look for the 640gb Caviar Black. It's usually easier to find.

Ah, ok then... is there much difference in performance?
Another question, is the Antec 900 case a more efficient model and worth the extra money spent on the PSU?
And is the 500W included PSU all I need for this build?
Thanks.

The 500 watt psu that comes with the Sonata is very good. It should be more than adequate for your build. The 900 is a little bigger and offers more fans for cooling, but it's a little more expensive.

Best of luck. Keep us posted.
