To be honest, that is a fairly ancient socket type nowadays - newegg only lists one board that matches: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153052

You might be better looking on eBay for anything that works. :)

thanks for the quick reply..can you recommend a current board that will fit in the m-tower case and won't cost a bundle. The HD, CD,sound card etc should still be usable?

Yeah, everything else should still be fine. Memory might be a problem as the standard is DDR2 now, and I think that your old board only supported DDR.

What case exactly do you have? I'm not that familiar with the Shuttle line-up.

The case is an Enlight Mid-tower w/300W Pwr Supply,6 PCI slots, vga slot 2 Ide slots,2fans.... Recently bought mem upgrade-2-1GB 400MHz DDR Non-ECC Cl3 P...Probably will not work on a new board? If not I could put the mem on E-bay...Any ideas on a new board, hate to give up on what is still usable....

OK, I think that you will be able to use any ATX format motherboard, of which there are thousands. :D

Check out the current budget build recommendations for motherboard, CPU and RAM in my signature, and see what you think.

If you want to save some more money, you can always get a slightly older board that supports the RAM you have, but that would involve eBay again. If it is within your budget, I would recommend buying some newer components.

Looked at your budget list and w/MB,CPUandRam it is within budget. However I assume my ATI Graphics Accel card will work? also Win 2000 XP Home is also adequate? Using Newegg prices

The ATI graphics card probably won't be compatible, but it also won't be necessary as the motherboard comes with built-in graphics capabilities. Unless you plan on playing games, the onboard video will be fine.

For the Operating System, XP Home will work very well, but you might want to consider moving to Windows 7 when it releases in October.

Thanks for your help. keeping up w/the tech improvements is not for the older generation.

Heh, technology moves so fast that it is difficult for anyone to keep up. :)

Good luck - let us know how you get on, and if you have any more queries.
