On one of my PC's I have a Intel Pentium 4, Can I go to a duel core or would I have to buy a new mother board?

You'll have to check the specs of the motherboard.

You would probably have to buy a new motherboard because a Pentium 4 processor has a different pin configuration (correct me if I am wrong) So that alone would mean a new motherboard.

Both sound about right I'd check the board first.

iirc, the pentium 4s use 754 socket, while the c2ds use 775.
