Monitor shadows

I have recently noticed that my monitor (four year old HP vs17x) shows a ghost image of everything five or six pixels to the right. The monitor's auto-adjust did not fix it. Any ideas on what, if anything, might make it go away.

I only recently noticed it. I cannot say for certain that it is new, though.

This might be caused by a loose or dodgy cable - double check that everything is properly secured. Also, try using a different DVI/VGA cable if you have one, and try the monitor on a different PC.

If it still persists after all of that, then it might be a problem with the monitor itself, and there isn't much you can do... :(
