for some reason i can not download windows seven from Microsoft. The download manager doesn't do anything. I do not get any boxes that say to install anything. Please help!
I am on Firefox 3.5

I also tried another location. It downloaded and burned, but the disk was not bootable.

Try using IE to access the download manager - they might be sniffy about people using different browsers.

What did you use to burn the other DVD?

ok i found out that the dvd burned correctly, but my computer does not boot into the install environment, instead it goes directly into xp. I have gotten bootable linux cd to work, but not this dvd. im stumped.

Hmmm...

Did you use some software such as Nero to burn the complete .iso file to the DVD? What happens if you just insert the DVD while you are already booted into XP?

XP sees the files. (i cant run them because i dont have 64 bit xp. I am using athlon 64 however). That should not affect booting from the image. Maybe the motherboard does not support booting from DVD?

Possibly, but if you can boot from a CD then you should be able to boot from a DVD.

Does it say "press any key to boot from CD" when you start your PC up? Is the DVD drive at the top of the boot order in the BIOS?
