On the hard drive, go with the Black edition instead of the Caviar. It's faster, and has a better warranty.

The Q9550 is the same price as the Q9400 plus it's much faster.

With my graphics card it does it make a difference if the memory it uses is DDR3 or DDR2 when the RAM is DDR2? Or do they have nothing to do with each other?
