I am building my first PC, but am wanting to get something super powerful that will last me for a long long time, I am going to use all the products mentioned in RickyTicks post about High End Builds, but i did have a few questions.

Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD4P LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz

Power Supply CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V

Ram G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

GPU EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275 896MB

Hard Drive Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB

Hard Drive Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB

Optical Drive Samsung SH-S223Q 22X DVD R/W burner with LightScribe

Operating System Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

I would like to use this Case.

does anyone see any problems with using this case?

After reading several negative reviews on the Intel motherboard, and hearing about the overclocking abilities, i am thinking of going with this one
MOBO-GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD4P LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

with going with this motherboard, would i need to make a modification on the RAM (bump up to 2000/pc3 1600) or stay with 1600/12600??

thank you in advance, and im sure this will just be one of many posts i have! i am so pumped to do this though, have been wanting to build for so so long.

Why should the questions be laughable? We are here to help, whatever the problem. Well, anything computer related at least. :)

That case should be fine - it has good reviews on newegg. I'm not a fan (pardon the pun) of the huuuuuge fan at the front, but it is all about personal preferences. My view on it is if you can look at the case in a year's time and still like it as much as you did when you bought it, then you made the right choice.

For the HDMI question, you can either buy a card that has a built in HDMI port or just get a DVI -> HDMI adapter:

You won't notice that much of a difference in going up to 2000 - read this article for more information:

Chronic that case looks fine to me, too, except that the first time I saw it last night, I couldn't help but hear the words, "Sooouuullllll Traiiiiiinnnn!!!" :D (If you never saw that 70s soul music program that started with an image of a locomotive with a big light in front chugging down the tracks, you won't get that.)

At any rate, I figure you're getting the case because it has those two big 250-mm fans -- biggest in the industry if you don't count the single 250 on that Antec Skeleton. I got a case that's pretty ugly, so I have no room to talk about funky cases, lol. It's a bit more expensive, and the fans aren't quite as big, but you get 3 230 mm fans, plus 1 140, if you want a really cool case, and the same side is also see-through.

It's the Coolermaster HAF 932 and it's still on sale (as a matter of fact, while I was dickering around with my OWN order, the price went back UP $10 on me... it's back DOWN another $10 now, lol) -- Here's a link if you want to take a look: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

Of course that Xclio case has "a certain charm" to it, but I kinda have to wonder if that huge lighted fan in the front and the other one on the side won't start to get old after a while.

As for the motherboard, I'm still WAY DOWN on the learning curve on motherboards, so I'll leaven those answers to the WiseMonkeys and such. I got the UD5, but if you look at the "Houston, We Have a Problem" thread I just started, maybe even my months of preparation and "homework" still wasn't enough.
