It worked! My first build is up and running. In fact, I'm typing this on it. I bought all the components for a budget PC. My goal was to keep it under $500 by using existing monitor, keyboard, speakers, etc.
I used:
Antec NSK6580B Case with Earthwatts 430W PSU
GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 Socket AM2+/ AMD 770/ DDR2/ A&2GbE/ ATX Motherboard
Athlon 64 X2 Dc 5200+ AM2 2.7GHZ 1MB 65NM 65W 2000MHZ Pib
HITACHI Deskstar P7K500 HDP725050GLA360 (0A35415) 500GB Hard Drive

Amazingly, all went smoothly. The only hitch- I put in a really cheap, no-name card reader. The adapter that came with the case didn't work, so I had to run out to a store to find a different one.
First boot? Well, at first nothing happened. Yeah, nothing at all. Then I figured out that my front bezel was not all the way on and the power button was not connecting. I hit the power button and all my fans were working. I hooked up my HD and DVD drives and they both worked, too.
Finding all the connections on the motherboard for all the zillions of little wires was a little tedious, but I think I got everything in the right place. I put in a Windows 7 RC dvd (64 bit) and it installed without a hitch.
Man, is this thing fast! Boots fast, shuts down fast, works fast while it's on. Sound that comes with this motherboard is fantastic. I think I'm hooked on this. I want to build another one now!
