I just shipped my superPC back home from college and when it got there the cpu fan had come completely off. As far as I can tell the only permanent damage done is that a bunch of the metal flaps on the heatsink of the fan are bent up. I removed the cpu and checked it out and it seemed fine. I figure as long as I unbend the flaps a bit the heatsink will work fine also. I 'm planning on just reinstalling the fan and was wondering if there are any other problems I might have that I haven't thought of.

(I got a week to ponder this since I had to order some new Arctic Silver 5)

The problem with this is that now the metal holding the heatsink will be structurally weaker than before, so it is more likely to happen again...

But as long as you thoroughly clean the CPU and heatsink before applying some more thermal paste, and make sure that the heatsink is attached as firmly as possible, then you should be OK.
