OS: Vista 64 Home Premium
Motherboard brand: Gigabyte GA-MA-78GMUS2H
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma, stock cooler
Video card: using onboard video for now
System memory: 4 gig's
Hard drive: WD 320GB SATA
Case: Antec Sonata III

I stuck to the recommended budget build, except I went with 4 gig's of RAM.
I purchased the case on sale at Fry's for $89 and the rest of the stuff on New Egg. The total cost of the build was just under $470 (shipped), quite a deal for a really nice setup. I had a couple of builder induced issues during the intial setup, but everything since has been smooth going. CPU has been idling at 35c and around for 43c to 45c while playing itunes videos. Anyway, thanks for the info and support for the build, this is really a great site and I am glad that I found it!

Congratulations Rex. Nice job. You can always add a video card later if you need one.

How's the performance compared to your last computer?

This is the first desktop I've had for a few years. My current laptops are a HP dv6000t Core 2 Duo that is a couple of years old and starting to die a slow death and a Lenovo S10 netbook with an Atom CPU, so this new setup is a pretty big performance gain for me.
