I have completed my first build. It went very smoothly and I am so thrilled with the outcome.
These are the components:
Completed : March 20. 2009
Case: Antec 1200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043
Operating system: Vista Home Premium 64bit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116488
Motherboard brand and model: Asus M3A79-T Deluxe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131339R
I didn't buy the motherboard from Newegg. They were out. I found one somewhere else.
Processor : AMD Phenom II X4 940 Denab 3.0GHz Quad Core http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103471
Video card : Sapphire Radeon 4850 1GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102802
(Meant to order the 4870 but hit the wrong button when ordered) They won't exchange it
so I am going to order a 4870 and use this one in my wife's computer I am going to build next.
Audio: Integrated 8 channel hd sound. (It seems to work well for now. May upgrade later)
Cpu Cooler: Zalman CNPS9900 LED http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118046
System memory: Corsair Dominator (4GB) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214

Power Supply: Corsair 650TX ATX12V http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
Monitor: Asus VW224U 22" Widescreen http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236050
DVD Burner: LG 22X http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136152
Arctic silver 5 Thermal Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007
Koutech Card reader http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820162016
Speakers: Creative 5.1 w. swing out arms for rear speakers (5 speakers and sub) I already had these.
Keyboard & Mouse: Logitech Cordless Wave / Logitech G5 Gaming Mouse

I have to say I appreciate all the help from the group here. I was somewhat surprised at how easy this build was. I realize that they are not all this easy.
This thing screams compared to my last computer. I love the case. I have room to put about anything I want in it.
I am now in the process of learning about overclocking. I really don't feel a need to but I would still like to learn about it.

I will upload some pics as soon as I figure out how.
Thanks again,
Mike
