I am a photographer using Photoshop with a large format printer . . . sometimes my image files are almost 2 gig.

Rob's website here helped me build by first SuperPC . . . I concentrated on RAM, Video Processing, HD capacity, and a good Mobo/CPU.

Unfortunately, within a month my HD (720 Western Digital) failed . . . the only indication was not able to load Windows.

After $300 of service from a local tech, the HD was diagnosed with BIOS failure. I also had to buy a new HD while waiting for Western Digital to replace the HD which was, of course, in warrantee.

I suppose it is rare for a Hard Drive to fail, but the caveate is that if I bought a custom DELL machine, I wouldn't be out the $300 in diagnostics.

Rob . . . you are welcome to comment.

That's the risk you take with building your own PC unfortunately - it is all down to you if things go bad.

You could, of course, have asked us friendly chaps here at the forums for free... :D
