If I am on a budget which upgrade is going to affect the noticeable speed of my computer moving from a 7200rpm to a 10,000 rpm hard drive or from a single to a dual core intel processor?

I have heard some people feel the bottle neck is at the hard drive, thus the hard drive being the most important to upgrade and keep on the newest technology.

CPU will make more of a difference by far. :)

10k rpm drives are good, but you will only notice a slight difference. You would see a much bigger improvement if you went for a 15k rpm drive, or just had another 7200rpm drive in RAID 0.
