I am going for it! My first build and I am going to use the recomended budget build with a few slight mods.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-US2H AM2+/AM2

PSU: Antec Earthwatts EA500

Case: Cooler Master CM 690

RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB

Optical Drive: SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe

OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders

Monitor:ASUS VW202NR 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD

Everything is coming from New Egg (w/ free shipping) except the case, which I am going to get at a local Fry's. Can't wait to get started!!

Oops! waited a little too long and now the AMD 7750 CPU is a deactivated item on New Egg. I may just pick it up at Fry's but it will cost me $30 more.
