Front/rear panel audio jack problems

Ok so here's the problem I'm having, my front audio jacks don't want to work at all, and my rear audio jacks arent color coded correctly, for example my headset is plugged into the speaker jack while my speakers are pluuged into the mic jack. Also I can't seem to get the headphones working on my headset no matter what jack I plug it into and I know they work on other computers. I'm running a MSI Plat 790 FX motherboard with Windows Vista SP1. Everything appears to be plugged in properly but im still having problems.

Are you using the onboard audio or a separate sound card? Either way, try downloading the latest drivers and see what happens. It sounds (pardon the pun) like a hardware issue though, so you might want to consider buying a cheap sound card and use that instead.
