Hey guys!

I just came back from a trip around the whole world with special people and am glad to be back home and settled!

But unfortunately, time did not stop for me in the technology market, and my thirst for power (fuelled by the need to spend spare money that I have no use for) has lead me to catch up with my aging computer! I am focusing on graphics cards and cpu coolers at the moment, but only need help on gpu selection.

I currently have a 9800GTX oc'ed at 760/1123 and have come down to 3 main options for an upgrade, but am open to suggestions for alternatives as well. I have an XFX 780i SLI Mobo, and a 750W PSU.

Unfortunately for where I live, the pricing is more distorted and exagerrated, and whacked itself a bit higher after the world crisis, but I'll have to deal with it.

Option 1
2x XFX 9800GTX+ BE Edition @$AU325 each

-Dual SLI and my best friend is willing to pay $120 on my 9800GTX (effective cost: $530)
-Tri SLI and my best friend is willing to pay $120 on my 750WPSU, will need to purchase a 1000-1200W psu which will add +~$AU400 (effective cost: $~930)

Option 2
1x XFX GTX295 @$AU899

-Single and my best friend is willing to pay $120 on my 9800GTX (effective cost: $779)

Option 3
1x XFX GTX280 @$AU595

-Single and my best friend is willing to pay $120 on my 9800GTX (effective cost: $475)

Option 4
Wait and do nothing

I play all my games on maxed out settings on a 32" LG tv. Reso is 1920 x 1080. Any other suggestions would be awesome too, thanks guys

Add another 9800GTX+ for SLI or wait a few months for the price of the GTX295 to drop. 899 is just too much to pay for a single video card. imo

Welcome back! Glad you had a nice time - where did you visit?

I would recommend just buying another 9800GTX to add to the one you already have for a SLI configuration, as this will be the most cost-effective way of upgrading at the moment.

I went to America and Canada, as well as parts of Asia but unfortunately was only able to bypass Europe over 3 months, absolutely amazing. Would go again but the money was spent on the computer, lol

Alright guys, I'll order a second 9800GTX+ with FC2 (+$20). Then, as you guys said we'll wait and see what happens in the nvidia market and the tech economy in general. Thanks for the input.
